Simple tips & advice for women to start successful business from home

Every woman in India can start a business from home by using a few simple methods. Episode 4 in Chalo StartUp series provides great advice. Subscribe now. Episode-4 of चलो StartUp features an inspirational mother-daughter duo each of whom has created her own business from home. Charu Nanda was always very fond of baking. When her kids started going to senior school, she converted her hobby into a small part-time home business. ‘Charu Nanda’s Home Baked Cakes’ quickly became popular among her family, friends & neighbours. This was possible only because of active support from her husband, mother-in-law & children. Her daughter, Bani, observed and learnt from her. While at college in Delhi University, she decided she wanted to be a chef. With professional training in Paris, knowledge of social media, and the energy of youth, she has started ‘Miam’, a Pâtisserie that specializes in modern cakes & pastries. Mom & daughter share a kitchen at home, and help each other. But they run their own businesses. Charu and Bani have proved that women can translate their hobbies into successful businesses. Their example also shows how family support and cooperation is a critical factor in making this happen. It also demonstrates how the next generation brings modern ideas to expand or enhance the business their parents set up. BioPrime: Farmers' Messiah

StartUp Gems Story#3 Renuka Diwan was traveling across the flood-hit areas of Jharkhand and UP in July 2019 when a poor farmer literally hugged her! For small & marginal farmers like this one, 70% of annual income comes from one crop. When that crop gets threatened by floods, droughts, insects, or climate change, it means disaster. That’s why BioPrime and its founders - Renuka, Shekhar, Amit- are seen as messiahs by such farmers... BioPrime’s next-generation of affordable ‘Agri biological’ products are like a ‘Protection Shield for crops’. What’s their secret formula? Well, it’s a secret! But broadly speaking, they use plant-based raw materials and pass them through a high-tech manufacturing process to create a range of organic products. Farmers are given a schedule for which products to use when (from sapling stage to flowering, growth, and yield stage). The schedule varies depending on the crop. Plants, therefore, get a stage-specific concoction that triggers specific actions within the plant. Renuka, Shekhar & Amit are three PhDs who never imagined they would be entrepreneurs. The two people and organizations who changed their direction were Premnath Venugopalan, who gave them an initial nudge, and Praneet Kamat, whose company became their go-to-market partner. Therein lies a key message: Good incubators can provide initial nurturing for startups, and good corporate partners can then give impetus through market access. Best of luck to BioPrime as it accelerates its journey to offer relief to poor farmers worldwide who struggle with climate change, resilient insects & diseases and crop loss! #MissionIndia #HiddenGems #YehIndiaKaTimeHai #birac #dst #nstedb #psa #stpi #srikantsastri #inspiringstory #startupindia #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #startupstories #innovation #LageRahoMunnaBhai #siic #venturecenter #iimcip
